Cybersecurity is NOT a Democracy: Why Weak Links Should Be Fired, Not Trained

By DeadSwitch | The Cyber Ghost
“In silence, we rise. In the switch, we fade.”

Let’s get this straight: Cybersecurity is NOT a charity.

Yet, every day, companies refuse to cut dead weight, leaving security teams dragging corpses through the battlefield.

🔹 The “veteran” who hasn’t updated their skills in a decade.
🔹 The clueless sysadmin who still writes passwords on sticky notes.
🔹 The manager who ignores every warning, then blames the SOC when an attack succeeds.

And worst of all? They all keep their jobs.

Incompetence in cybersecurity isn’t just an annoyance—it’s an attack vector.
And if your company tolerates it, you’re already compromised.

THE REALITY: ONE WEAK LINK COMPROMISES THE WHOLE CHAIN

Security is not a democracy—it’s a battlefield.
You don’t get a vote.
You don’t get participation trophies.
And you sure as hell don’t get to be dead weight while the rest of us fight the real war.

Cybersecurity isn’t about feelings. It’s about defense.

🔹 Would you keep a soldier who refuses to load their weapon?
🔹 Would you let a firefighter onto the team if they’re scared of fire?
🔹 Would you trust a pilot who never learned how to land?

Then why the hell is IT security filled with people who don’t know what they’re doing?

If you can’t keep up, GET OUT.

THE MYTH: “WE CAN TRAIN THEM”

No, you can’t. At least, not all of them.

You can train ignorance. You can’t train apathy.

🔹 If someone wants to learn—they will.
🔹 If someone cares about security—they’ll take initiative.
🔹 If someone actually gives a damn—you won’t need to beg them to do their job.

But the dead weight?
The ones who don’t read.
The ones who don’t patch.
The ones who refuse to adapt.

They will NEVER change. And the longer they stay, the bigger the risk they become.

They’ll ignore best practices.
They’ll click phishing links.
They’ll refuse to take responsibility.

And when your company gets breached?
They’ll shrug and collect their paycheck.

THE SOLUTION: CUT THEM LOOSE

💀 Fire the security risks who refuse to improve.
💀 Eliminate the ones who make excuses instead of learning.
💀 Replace them with people who actually understand the fight we’re in.

Cybersecurity is a warzone.
You don’t go into battle with soldiers who can’t shoot.
So why the hell are companies keeping employees who can’t secure a basic system?

This isn’t about kindness.
This isn’t about second chances.
This is about survival.

Hackers don’t care about your seniority.
They don’t care about your job title.
They don’t care if you’re “trying your best.”

They will exploit your weakest link—and that weak link might just be your own team.

So either cut the dead weight now—or wait for the breach that makes the decision for you.

DeadSwitch out.
